A Torrington-based commercial developer has purchased two Hamden lots for a proposed retail site along Whitney Avenue.
MCG Hamden LLC bought the vacant properties at 4107 and 4121 Whitney Ave., from Mt. Carmel Associates for $335,000 in a deal recorded Feb. 29, according to town land records.
MCG is controlled by the Calito Development Group of Torrington, which is the applicant for a proposed new 10,640-square-foot retail building on the lots, which are currently vacant.
The site plans, which were approved by the town Planning and Zoning Commission, do not specify a retailer that would occupy the new build. Gary Eucalitto, head of the Calito group, could not be reached for comment.
The development group has built numerous commercial sites throughout Connecticut, including at least a dozen Dollar General stores along with sites occupied by Chipotle restaurants and O’Reilly Auto Parts. The group also won approval for a new Caliber Collision auto repair shop in Southington.
