DOJ still reviewing proposed SS&C acquisition

Windsor’s SS&C Technologies Holdings said it has agreed to voluntarily provide additional time to federal antitrust officials to review its proposed acquisition of Advent Technologies.

SS&C will withdraw and refile its pre-merger notification under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act, which will restart a 30-day shot clock for the U.S. Department of Justice’s initial review. That review period will expire April 23.

Hart-Scott-Rodino is meant to ensure that mergers or acquisitions are not anticompetitive and don’t harm consumers.
