Dynegy's $100K supports middle school sports

National energy company Dynegy made a $100,000 donation to CREC Athletics to support middle school sports programs at five participating CREC middle schools for the 2017-2018 academic year. Donation funds will also be used to launch a scholarship award for graduating seniors.

The Connecticut Physician Assistant Foundation recently received a $2,000 donation from Glastonbury-based GoodWorks Insurance. The foundation provides scholarships to students who are enrolled in a Connecticut physician-assistant program and state residents attending out-of-state physician-assistant programs.

Bob's Discount Furniture has pledged over $125,000 to Autism Speaks this year, and will continue its partnership to enhance lives and accelerate solutions for individuals with autism and their families. Over the past four years, Bob's has contributed $350,000 to Autism Speaks through sponsorships and gift card donations.

Simsbury Bank sponsored the Greater Hartford YMCA's fall and winter youth sports leagues for 2017. The bank's $1,000 sponsorship will help provide activities including basketball, soccer and t-ball for kids ages 2 to 14.
