Electric Boat picked up two contracts from the U.S. Navy last week that could exceed $200 million, according to new reports from the U.S. Department of Defense.
Groton-based submarine maker General Dynamics Electric Boat last week won a contract not to exceed $181 million to acquire and develop materials needed to build Virginia Class Block VI submarines over the next decade. The contract is expected to be completed in 2035, according to the DoD.
Also last week, Electric Boat Corp. was awarded a $22.1 million contract to procure materials needed for multiple shipsets and submarine communication systems. That contract is expected to be completed in mid-2027, per the DoD.
Waterford-based Sonalysts Inc. also got a $15.6 million funding bump from the U.S. Air Force, according to DoD, upgrading a previous Space Force-related contract that was originally awarded in 2018 to about $189.5 million. The contract increase will go toward operational test and training infrastructure and be completed in Waterford by early 2026.
According to information about Sonalysts initial Space Force contract from 2018, the company was tasked with developing space-related training systems and software programs for the U.S. military and has been working on several projects in the years since then.
