The Planning and Zoning Commission in Wethersfield approved separate plans for an events venue and a salon in a multi-use commercial building at 898 Silas Deane Highway during its meeting Tuesday night.
West Hartford-based Virgins Enterprise LLC received approval for a 2,100-square-foot banquet hall, called Euphoria Loft Event Venue, in a vacant part of the building next to a State Farm office.
The commission approved the venue with the condition that the parking lot in the rear be patched within 90 days of occupancy.
The events space will have a capacity of about 100 people and will host corporate seminars, intimate gatherings, wedding receptions, birthdays and other celebrations, according to the application.
Dylon Virgin, of East Hartford, is listed as the principal of the business. He has an agreement to lease the space from the building owner, 898 Wethersfield LLC, starting March 1.
Also, the commission approved a similar application, submitted by West Hartford-based O.R Enterprise LLC, to convert an empty section of the building into a salon with a waiting area and offices. The business will be named Opulent Retreat Salon & Suites.
According to the application, the salon will occupy 4,000 square feet on the second floor of the building, including 16 suites for beautician and esthetician services.
The principal of O.R Enterprise LLC is Oniellia Robinson of Hartford.
