Eversource Foundation supports summer school enrichment

The Eversource Foundation recently donated $2,500 to support Ädelbrook's summer programming. Ädelbrook provides a seven week extended school year program during the summer months, which includes functional academics and enrichment activities for individuals with autism. Move UP! received a grant of $420,000 from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving to continue its work of developing and integrating a more coordinated system among adult literacy, workforce development, and post-secondary education providers in the Greater Hartford region.

Move UP! was launched in 2011 to improve adult-learning curriculum and efforts in Connecticut.

Jim Williamson, president of the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, has recently announced his retirement. During his 12-year tenure, Williamson managed the Foundation's “First Years First,” early childhood development initiative.

Since its establishment in 2005, First Years First has made nearly $2 million in grants to a wide variety of local early childhood development programs.
