Multi-state water and energy utilities provider Eversource recently signed a long-term lease in a 268,496-square-foot light industrial building in Windsor Locks.
Eversource leased entire warehouse on 32.3 acres at 140 Old County Circle as of Dec. 1, according to Jones Lang LaSalle Managing Director Shawn P. McMahon. JLL listed the property for about seven months after prior tenant Serta Simmons Bedding declared bankruptcy, McMahon said.
“It’s a great win for the town of Windsor Locks to have Eversource as a tenant in their community,” McMahon said.
Eversource will use the Windsor Locks property to store electric system materials, according to company spokesperson Tricia Taskey Modifica. It will also support storm restoration efforts in northern Connecticut, she said.
Cushman & Wakefield represented Eversource.
According to Windsor Locks assessing records, the property is owned by SCT Old County LLC, a Delaware-registered company that paid $22.9 million for the property in 2016.
The property fronts Route 20 in the Windsor Locks Industrial Park, offering highway access at a midpoint between Springfield and Hartford, McMahon said. It also represented one of the only large industrial spaces left available in the north-of-Hartford market, McMahon said.
