Eversource Energy has named a new chief financial officer following the retirement of Phil Lembo, 66, who has held the position since May 2016.
The company’s senior vice president and treasurer, John Moreira, became CFO effective Wednesday.
Lembo will continue to work for Everosurce until later this year as a non-executive senior strategic adviser focusing on options for Eversource’s offshore wind investments, which the company is reviewing for a possible sale.
Moreira, a 22-year veteran of Eversource and its predecessors, was promoted to senior vice president - finance and regulatory, and treasurer, in 2018. In his new role, he will remain the company’s treasurer.
Moreira is a certified public accountant and holds a master’s degree in business administration from Curry College and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth.
Moreira said Eversource is “very well positioned to execute [its] $18 billion, five-year investment program to upgrade, modernize and decarbonize our delivery networks.”
Eversource transmits and delivers electricity and natural gas and supplies water to about 4.4 million customers in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
