Express Kitchens jumps across turnpike to larger location

Hartford-based Express Kitchens has moved its Newington showroom across the street into a larger property it acquired early this year.

The cabinet and countertop retailer held its grand opening on Sept. 30 at its new Newington address, 3311 Berlin Turnpike.

The 12,339-square-foot building, previously known as the Acorn Thompson building, had been vacant.

Express Kitchens had its old showroom just across the street, at 3310 Berlin Turnpike.

Earlier this year, Industrial Protection Products moved into some of the space at that address, according to town records.

Express Kitchens is headquartered on Weston Street in Hartford and lists 15 area locations, including one in Springfield.
