Students at Fairfield University recently gained real-world experience managing a local business’ social media presence, through a partnership with the family-owned Italian restaurant Romanacci.
Fairfield University’s Dolan School of Business collaborated with Romanacci to give students an opportunity to plan and implement a social media marketing campaign, the university said.
Students in a social media marketing course applied theoretical concepts to actual business scenarios, in an effort to enhance Romanacci’s online engagement, the school said.
The collaboration led to quantifiable gains in Romanacci’s social media metrics, including an increase in the eatery’s TikTok following by 65%.
Also, two students who worked on the project were offered semester-long internships working with Romanacci in spring 2025.
The students worked in teams, with half focusing on organic media and the other half on paid media strategies.
Romanacci is a family-owned Italian restaurant with five locations in Fairfield County.
