The new owners of a 33-acre orchard in Cheshire plan to revive the farm operation and reopen the market store.
Dr. David Esposito, a Milford surgeon, and his wife Suzanne Jagoe, have acquired Hickory Hill Orchards from longtime owners Fredric and Lynn Kudish, who closed the orchard in 2023.
The new owners’ son Tim Fitzgerald will head day-to-day farm operations, and niece Sage Esposito will manage the farm market.
They hope to open the farm market this spring and offer pick-your-own apples in the fall.
Hickory Hill Orchards grows almost two dozen varieties of apples as well as pears, pumpkins and other produce, according to Pearce Real Estate.
Pearce Real Estate’s senior commercial specialist John Bergin represented the buyers in the deal, along with attorney Joy Topanzian Moore of the law firm Barton Gilman LLP in Milford.
The orchard property at 351 and 363 South Meriden Road contains a 3,170-square-foot farm stand and a 4,143-square-foot farmhouse with a four-horse barn.
The sellers were represented by Mary Ann Campbell and Heydeh Renstrup of William Pitt Sotheby’s International Realty in Westport, along with attorney Jeffrey Beatty of Guilford.
