A former bed-and-breakfast in a commercial section of South Windsor across from Evergreen Walk has been listed for $5 million.
Cushman & Wakefield is marketing for sale the 18.2-acre property, owned by the estate of the late William Krawsk, who ran the Cumon Inn. The business has been closed for more than a decade.
Tim McNamara, a broker with Cushman & Wakefield, said he envisions the property, which comprises three parcels – at 130, 140 and 150 Buckland Road – as a retail, medical or office-type redevelopment opportunity.
“It seems to be one of the last few remaining large commercially zoned properties in South Windsor in a corridor that has experienced commercial growth in recent years, and would appear to complement, or potentially be complementary to, other uses in that area,” McNamara said.
Also, the site will benefit from a four-way traffic light that will be installed through the driveway to the adjacent Chase Bank and Aldi store.
The property is located in the town’s Gateway Zone, which gives the town oversight into the design of developments. Residential development isn’t allowed.
