Westport-based chain PopUp Bagels has announced plans to launch a franchise operation, and has named a new CEO.
The company, which was founded in 2020, currently has eight locations across Connecticut and Manhattan, with seasonal locations in East Hampton, NY, Palm Beach, Florida and Wellesley, Massachusetts.
Tory Bartlett, who joined the chain from Moe’s Southwest Grill in September of this year, has been appointed CEO and will lead the franchising effort.
Adam Goldberg, PopUp Bagel’s founder and former CEO will now become the company’s chief brand officer.
“Tory’s experience in driving growth through franchising makes him the ideal leader for PopUp Bagels as we expand,” Goldberg said.
In 2023, the company raised $8 million in a fundraising round led by growth-equity firm Stripes, and attracting several celebrity investors. It has just closed a Series B funding round led by the same group, but did not disclose the amount raised.
