Wahlburgers, the casual restaurant and bar chain, is set to open at Foxwoods Resort Casino next summer. It would be the chain's only current location in Connecticut.
The restaurant, founded by brothers Mark, Donnie and Chef Paul Wahlberg, offers “a mecca for fans of the Wahlberg brothers and the Wahlburgers TV series,” Foxwoods said in an announcement Wednesday.
Wahlburgers will replace Fuddruckers, which is closing in September. Construction is slated to begin in October.
The restaurant’s interior will include photos and memorabilia that follows the Wahlberg brothers’ journey from their roots in Dorchester, Massachusetts, to becoming celebrities.
“The addition of Wahlburgers signifies yet another exceptional property moment as we continue our mission to elevate the Foxwoods experience,” said Jason Guyot, president and CEO of Foxwoods. “Like Foxwoods, Wahlburgers is a family-owned business that has ties to the local community and offers a premium guest experience.”
The menu features a variety of fresh burgers and sandwiches, entrée salads, appetizers or “Wahlbites,” as well as vegetarian options. Wahlburgers' full-service bar offers “Wahlcoctions” cocktails, wines and beers including “Wahlbrewski,” an unfiltered pale ale.
“Growing up not too far from Foxwoods Resort Casino, it is a natural fit for our team and we are excited to open a Wahlburgers at the property,” Mark Wahlberg said.
The announcement marks the third addition to Foxwoods’ dining offerings since March. Recently, Foxwoods opened Canopy Players’ Lounge, a buffet-style lounge, and has begun construction on Sushi By Bou.
Wahlburgers previously had a location at the Westfield Trumbull Mall, which opened in 2017 and closed in 2020. In 2019, actor Mark Wahlberg made an appearance.
