Whether you’re looking for an ethnic food staple, a fresh smoothie, a bacon waffle cheeseburger, a garden salad or fried-anything – the Riverfront Food Truck Festival has an option for you.
More than 20 food trucks will line Mortensen Riverfront Plaza, running the gamut from ethnic to American; traditional to bizarre; vegetarian to barbecued meat.
Hartford’s annual food truck festival kicks off at 11 a.m. Thursday and continues through Saturday.
As patrons enjoy an assortment of food choices, they’ll be treated to live music at the Hartford HealthCare Amphitheater, which sits along the Connecticut River.
The food offerings include lobster rolls and chowder, authentic Canadian poutine, Lebanese dishes, including falafel, gyros and a variety of salads; Hawaiian coffee and tropical drinks; Jamaican-American cuisine and more.
Of course, there will be plenty of pizza, sliders, burgers, barbecue food, loaded tots and fried dough.
One truck takes snack food to the extreme, serving up “crispy balls of goodness” that include cheeseburger, chicken parmesan and taco fillings.
There also will be dessert trucks, offering homemade ice cream and cupcakes.
The food truck festival runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.
A full list of food trucks is below:
