Frontier Communications, which has been aggressively expanding its fiber internet network across the state, said it has reached a new milestone.
In 2021, 170,000 homes and businesses in Connecticut had access to the high-speed service, according to Frontier.
Three years later, Frontier’s fiber network is available at 1 million locations throughout the state – a 475% increase, the company announced.
Frontier said the expansion will help meet growing demand for broadband as users consume more data on the internet.
“Three years ago, we set out to change our company for the better and bring a superior broadband product to Connecticut,” said Veronica Bloodworth, chief network officer at Frontier. “Today, we are proud to say we have delivered on just that.”
Frontier maintains an office presence in Norwalk after relocating its headquarters to Dallas in 2023.
