Gas prices fall below $3

For the first time since Nov. 2010, Connecticut’s average price for a gallon of regular gasoline has fallen below $3, according to AAA.

Wednesday’s statewide average stood at $2.995, AAA said. That’s down 24 cents in the past month and 67 cents over the year. Connecticut still has the fourth highest gas price in the country.

The auto travel club predicts prices will continue to fall in the weeks ahead.
