GoFundMe: CT is the sixth most generous state

The crowdfunding website GoFundMe says Connecticut is among the most generous states when it comes to donating to fundraising campaigns it hosts.

This year, Connecticut produced the sixth highest number of donations per capita of any state to GoFundMe campaigns, which raise money for charities, victims of violence, people with medical debt, and myriad other causes and projects. That's up from 8th place last year.

GoFundMe, whose campaigns have collected over $9 billion in donations since 2010, would not disclose the dollar amounts donated by individual states.

Beating Connecticut on the 2019 most generous states list were Massachusetts, Vermont, Washington, New Hampshire and Colorado.
