Graff Public Solutions founder named to American Lung Assoc.'s CT Leadership Board

The American Lung Association recently appointed Glastonbury's Kevin Graff to its Connecticut Leadership Board in recognition of his work advancing the organization's mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

Graff founded Hartford-based Graff Public Solutions LLC in 2012, which provides lobbying, ally development and strategic consulting for business organizations and nonprofits.

Lublin's receive UConn's Neag medal of honor

Avon residents and cancer survivors Richard and Jane Lublin received UConn's Carole and Ray Neag Comprehensive Cancer Center's highest award, the medal of honor, for helping raise millions of dollars to support cancer treatment and research at the UConn Health Center.

Recipients of the award are selected based on their dedication and legacies in cancer research, education, public service or philanthropy.

Brownell receives Construction Institute's distinguished service award

David Brownell, of Simsbury consulting firm Brownell Group, has been selected for the 2014 Distinguished Service Award by the Construction Institute for his service and dedication to the organization and construction industry.

Brownell has served the institute in several ways. He has served on the organization's technology, marketing and program committees and the committee on change.

He is currently on the Construction Institute's board of advisors and will serve as board chairman in 2014-15.

CT hospitals recognized nationally for quality improvement leadership

The Connecticut Hospital Association is the 2014 recipient of the American Hospital Association's Dick Davidson Quality Milestone Award for Allied Association Leadership.

The award is given to hospital associations that, along with their member hospitals, demonstrate leadership and innovation in quality improvement and contribute to national healthcare improvement efforts. 

Connecticut hospitals are being recognized for their involvement in the first-of-its-kind statewide high-reliability collaborative to reduce preventable harm and empower hospitals to become high reliability organizations.

Cronin and Co. wins two ad awards

Glastonbury ad agency Cronin and Co. said it won two awards at the recent Annual Bell Ringer Awards ceremony in Boston, hosted by the The Publicity Club of New England.

Cronin received a third-place “Bronze Bell” award in the Public Affairs Campaign category for its work on the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services' “Tax Amnesty Program,” and a Merit Award in the Special Event: Single Campaign category for its McDonald's “#BreakfastRoutines Twitter Party,” campaign.
