The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven has a new leader.
The nonprofit’s board has named Tameika Miller its new CEO, effective Oct. 30, 2024.
She is replacing Lisa Caruso, who served in the role from July 2022 to January 2024.
Miller currently serves as executive vice president of member engagement and communications for the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce.
Her appointment follows a regional search conducted by the executive division of the Boys and Girls Club of America, the nonprofit said.
“My vision is to create a safe and inspiring environment where every child has the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to unlock their full potential,” Miller said. “I look forward to working in this region with donors and volunteers, our staff and board of directors, elected officials, companies, and community organizations to create a brighter future for our next generation.”
The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater New Haven was created in 2022 following the merger of the Boys and Girls Club of New Haven and the Ulbrich BGC of Wallingford and North Haven. Caruso was the combined organization’s first CEO.
According to its fiscal year 2023 990 tax filing, the BGC of Greater New Haven reported 189 employees and $2.2 million in revenue, down from $3.1 million in revenue in the year-ago period.
