Connecticut commercial customers can now test drive Paraco Gas's propane fueled "Green Machine," a 2012 Nissan NV Cargo Van.
The van is being used by the company to promote propane as a viable fuel option for fleets across Connecticut and the Northeast.
The conversion kit used by the van allows it to run on either gasoline or propane gas, which is less expensive per gallon. When using propane the van produces 12% less carbon dioxide, 20% less nitrogen oxide and 60% less carbon monoxide.
Paraco hopes the van will show that propane's power and performance is indistinguishable from gasoline. The company based in Rye Brook, New York, claims many who are hesitant to convert know the advantages in cost, and emissions but doubt the propane's functionality.
