Gregory Calnen is a senior account manager at ZAG Interactive, a full-service digital marketing agency. Calnen joined ZAG in 2013 and has been heavily involved in the development and growth of the account-management department. Beginning with two members the team has grown to six employees responsible for over 200 relationships.
What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment?
It has been developing the account-management role and department from scratch and seeing the strong relationships it has helped to establish at ZAG with our clients.
How are you involved in the community?
I have been engaged with the nonprofit organization HARC since 2009 as a volunteer, event chair and currently an executive board member. I am also serving on the United Way Emerging Leaders Society steering committee, the executive committee of Hartford Young Professional and Entrepreneurs, as well as the board for the Miracle League of Connecticut.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love to spend time with family and friends, including my new rescue puppy Millie. Hockey has also been a major part of my life, having played competitively for 22 years. Whether it’s watching, playing or coaching, I’m usually not far from the game.
Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty:
• Developed roles and department to create opportunities for professional growth at ZAG.
• I’m involved with four different community organizations at the board level.
• I am dedicated to mentoring and connecting my peers to become engaged in the community and future leaders.
• I live, work and play all things Hartford has to offer.
I have a pair of pants in every color except purple.
