A New York developer has gained approval to build a 64-unit, multifamily affordable housing complex in Hamden near the North Haven border.
Regan Development Corp., of Ardsley, New York, got the green light from the town Planning and Zoning Commission in September for its plan to redevelop 2980 State St.
The three-building complex will have two, two-and-a-half story buildings with 20 apartments each, and the third two-story building will have 24 apartments, all a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom units, with rents ranging from 30% to 60% of the area median income.
Regan plans to buy the property from owner Michael S. Malonis and demolish the cabin, shed, and multiple garages currently on-site.
The complex will include 100 parking spaces and electric vehicle charging stations, nearby bike parking, outdoor recreational space including a playground area and separate recreational amenity space.
