Soccer is almost back in the capital city.
The Hartford Athletic this week announced its schedule for 2022, the club’s fourth United Soccer League Championship season, which kicks off on the road against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on March 19. The team’s first home match is set for April 2 against Atlanta United 2.
According to information from the club, Hartford will play 34 USL Championship regular season matches, half of them home games at Dillon Stadium in Hartford and half away. Fifteen of the club’s home games will be on Saturdays, at times to be announced in the coming weeks.
The club’s home opener on April 2 will be its first matchup against Atlanta United 2 since Hartford’s inaugural season in 2019.
The Hartford Athletic was founded in 2018 and is Connecticut’s only professional soccer team.
