Hartford-based parking magnate LAZ Parking has acquired a majority interest in FleetLogix, a fleet management and staffing services provider headquartered in San Diego, California.

The partnership “merges the capabilities of both companies” while providing FleetLogix with “the resources needed to grow and better serve its clients and customers,” according to an announcement.

FleetLogix provides managed labor services to rental car agencies, including transportation and cleaning of rental cars at more than 37 airports across the U.S.

Other services include on-site management, HR, payroll and recruiting; shuttle bus driving; maintenance support; valet/check-in services and porters; and lost and found management.

FleetLogix has 2,400 employees and operates in 50 locations at 37 airports. Its web-based data analysis platform, FleetAnalytix, is used to deploy personnel at more than 75 airports in the U.S. and Canada.

The acquisition will help LAZ to “accelerate its growth and better support its customer base throughout the U.S. and Canada,” the announcement states.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with FleetLogix and to be merging the world-class capabilities of our two companies,” said Alan Lazowski, chairman and CEO of LAZ.

LAZ is considered the largest privately-owned parking operator in the United States. It operates more than 1.7 million parking spaces in over 4,000 locations in 42 states and 530 cities in the U.S. and Canada.
