Hartford HealthCare is committed to health equity and bringing experts where they are needed most. The goals of the mobile teams are to meet patients where they are to provide them with the necessary medical care, whether COVID-19 testing, vaccination or preventative health screenings and services.

Q: Why are they a HealthCare Hero?

Hartford HealthCare mobile vaccine, testing and neighborhood health teams are providing essential medical services to our community members at accessible locations. The mobile “CareVans” operate health clinics offering medical and social support services including screenings, mental health counseling, medical referrals, education and support.

The mobile COVID-19 vaccine and testing teams travel the state five days a week, setting up clinics at community locations to provide services to those who may not be able to access them otherwise. Hartford HealthCare is committed to ensuring our community members are provided with the trusted medical care they deserve at accessible locations.

Q: How did these organizations contribute to your organization’s COVID-19 response?

To date, we have held 2,177 mobile COVID-19 testing events providing over 150,000 tests on-site at community locations including shelters, soup kitchens, assisted living and skilled nursing facilities, schools and businesses. We have held 379 mobile COVID-19 vaccine events providing over 14,000 vaccinations in our communities.
