Hartford HealthCare names Cleveland Clinic exec as its new CFO

Chibueze Okey Agba

Hartford HealthCare, operator of myriad hospitals in Connecticut including flagship Hartford Hospital, has named a new chief financial officer.

Chibueze Okey Agba has been appointed the health system’s new executive vice president and CFO. He will replace Charlie Johnson, who is retiring at the end of September.

Agba will report directly to HHC president and CEO, Jeffrey A. Flaks.

Since 2016, Agba has served as a CFO for Cleveland Clinic — first in the clinic’s extensive center in Abu Dhabi and more recently for Cleveland Clinic’s Florida region, which includes five acute-care hospitals, 32 outpatient centers, as well as ambulatory and urgent care operations.

Previously, he was CFO and treasurer at Tufts Medical Center and Floating Hospital for Children in Boston. He has also held executive finance positions at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital in Boston, and the Massachusetts-based Partners Healthcare System.
