Seven months after it was first announced, Hartford HealthCare opened health clinics Wednesday at three Walgreens locations in the state.
Called Hartford HealthCare at Walgreens, the clinics provide access to primary care, health screenings and other services and represent the first retail clinic collaboration with a health system in New England, Hartford HealthCare said.
“Nearly 80% of Americans live within 5 miles of a Walgreens store,” the health system said, adding that the collaboration “brings together retail health, pharmacy and primary care all in one location.”
A total of five locations are planned. The three now open are located at 340 Flanders Road in East Lyme; 2 Shaker Road in Enfield; and 203 Kennedy Drive in Putnam. A fourth location will open in July at 235 Main St. in Norwalk, with a fifth scheduled to open in August at 295 Main St. in Manchester.
The clinics are operated by Hartford HealthCare medical providers. In addition to primary care and health screenings, they offer vaccinations, and confidential telehealth services seven days a week, by appointment or walk-in.
