Hartford insurer, other CT firms, named 'Most Ethical Companies'

The Ethisphere Institute, a think tank that advances business practice ethical standards, has named The Hartford to its list of 2017 World’s Most Ethical Companies.

Other Connecticut-based firms making the list include Praxair of Danbury and Xerox in Norwalk. This is The Hartford's ninth time being recognized on the list.

Scottsdale, Az.-based Ethisphere named 124 companies to this year’s list.

Companies were evaluated in areas including ethics and compliance programming, corporate citizenship and responsibility, culture of ethics, governance and leadership, innovation and reputation.
