Hartford's $26.1M Capewell apartment conversion complete

Submitted rendering The Corporation for Independent Living's vision for the former Capewell Horsenail factory in Hartford.

An open house kicks off today to mark the completion of 72 apartments at the $26.1 million Capewell Loft redevelopment in Hartford.

The general contractor, Corporation for Independent Living (CIL), and Trio Properties are hosting the open house from 5 to 7 p.m. on the former Capewell Horse Nail company property at 57 Charter Oak Ave.

The former factory, which served as a blighted brownfield for years, was recently redeveloped using a mix of public and private financing.

The project offers rents starting at $975 for a studio, and includes one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with the highest rent listed at $2,300.
