Hartford’s Camp Courant, a free summer day camp for children, has for the first time made its facilities available for outside entities to rent for corporate events, birthday parties, graduation celebrations and other events.
The 36-acre enclosed campus at 96 Batterson Park Road, Farmington, includes indoor spaces and four grand outdoor pavilions, capable of hosting events of any size, rain or shine.
The facilities are available when camp is not in operation, through the new initiative, which is called, “The Pavillions.”
“The Pavilions at Hartford's Camp Courant brings an event space to the region that combines nature's beauty with rustic chic,” said Corrianne Chipello, executive director and CEO of Camp Courant.
Camp Courant developed the program to create a new revenue stream, which it will use to support its mission, with help from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving’s Social Enterprise Accelerator.
Anyone interested in renting or touring Camp Courant may contact Tricia Rowold at trowold@campcourant.org or visit the organization’s website at www.campcourant.org.
Camp Courant is celebrating its 130th anniversary this year. It hosts 750 children a day in the summer when camp is in session. Campers receive breakfast and lunch daily, and transportation is covered to and from Hartford.
Also, this year Camp Courant has expanded its offerings into East Hartford.
