Golfers will be able to tee it up next month at Hartford’s Dunkin' Donuts Park, which will be transformed into a par-3 golf course during a four-day event, the Hartford Yard Goats announced Wednesday.
The Hartford Yard Goats, the Double-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies, said they are partnering with Callaway Golf to host the “Links At The Yard” event for a weekend matinee from Sept. 27 to Sept. 30.
Local golf clubs Keney and Goodwin Park have also partnered in the event.
In groups of two or four, golfers will hit tee shots from elevated areas of the ballpark onto target-style holes. The event cost is $52 per player.
San Diego-based Callaway has held similar events at PetCo Park, home of the San Diego Padres.
“They have so much energy and passion for creating an authentic and unique golf experience in their new stadium, and Callaway is happy to be a part of that,” Callaway Senior Marketing Manager Nathan Adelman said of the Yard Goats’ management team.
This isn’t the first time Dunkin’ Donuts Park has expanded its offerings.
In June, it held its first comedy show and has hosted several UConn and area high school baseball games, charity events, community functions and a wedding.
The Yard Goats are scheduled to host the second annual Brew Fest at Dunkin' Donuts Park on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Ballpark Digest in June ranked Dunkin' Donuts Park as the best ballpark in the Double-A Eastern League for the second consecutive year.
The Yard Goats lead the Eastern League in attendance this season drawing a total of 333,912 fans, averaging 5,858 per game.
Space is limited for the park’s weekend golf tournament, team officials said. Golfers can register by calling 860-246-GOAT (4628), or by visiting the stadium’s tix office or the Yard Goats’ website.
