The Swift Factory, a recently renovated, 84,000-square-foot hub for entrepreneurs in Hartford’s north end, has a new feature: a podcast studio.
Officials celebrated the The Swift Factory Podcast Studio Powered by Comcast’s debut at an event Thursday morning.
The public recording studio has recording equipment, along with editing and design software, allowing small businesses to create audio content promoting their brand.
The Swift Factory at 10 Love Lane is the former home of M. Swift & Sons gold-leafing factory, which closed in 2005. It is owned and operated by the nonprofit North Hartford Partnership.
In 2017, the building underwent a $34 million revitalization with the help of state and federal grants. The facility houses small businesses and organizations in its offices, coworking spaces and nine commercial kitchens.
The studio was added to the second floor of the building with support from Comcast as part of its effort to advance digital equity programs and community partnerships.
"The Swift Factory Podcast Studio will foster the development of Hartford’s next generation of innovators and artists,” Hartford Mayor Arunan Arulampalam said. “Their commitment to bolstering our community's creative infrastructure will improve the professional and personal services available to our residents and drive economic growth for years to come.”
