New Haven-born eatery Haven Hot Chicken, known for its Nashville-style spicy fare, is expanding with a third location in Norwalk this coming winter.
The restaurant’s flagship location opened at 21 Whitney Ave., New Haven, in October 2020, and a second restaurant opened at 550 Boston Post Rd. in Orange in June.
The third Haven Hot Chicken will be in a 2,500-square-foot space at 596 Westport Ave., Norwalk. While the opening will be this winter, restaurant owners did not disclose the exact month.
Rob LaTronica, a co-founder of Haven Hot Chicken, said the time has come for an expansion beyond New Haven County with the business’ first foray into Fairfield County.
“While we have met many members of our new community who have made the trip to Orange or New Haven to enjoy our award-winning chicken or ‘not chicken,’ we are excited to put down roots in this new area,” LaTronica said, in an announcement.
According to LaTronica, the new location will have ample parking and a large delivery area.
The Norwalk location will offer curbside takeout and delivery like its two predecessors, however this new location will also have more than 25 seats for customers who want to dine in.
LaTronica founded the concept with fellow restaurateurs Craig Sklar, Jason Sobocinski and Etkin Tekin.
The restaurant serves chicken and vegetarian options, sandwiches and tenders, with a range of spice levels. The vegetarian “Not Chicken” sandwich is made of cauliflower.
Customers who prefer no spice can order “Country,” with gradually increasing spice levels all the way up to the extremely spicy “Haven.”
