Former RTX CEO Gregory Hayes will step down as chairman of the company and also leave the board, according to an announcement from the parent of East Hartford jet engine maker Pratt & Whitney.
The change will be effective April 30, 2025.
Hayes formerly headed up Farmington-based United Technologies Corp. before it merged with Raytheon to form RTX in 2020. He was appointed CEO after the merger. He was succeeded in that job last year by Christopher Calio.
RTX said Hayes will remain an employee of the company until January 2026, and take on a role as special advisor to Calio.
Calio now becomes chairman of the board in addition to CEO.
Calio was previously president and chief operating officer at RTX, and had also held leadership positions at Pratt & Whitney.
