The state Department of Consumer Protection has named three cannabis product manufacturers and a transporter moving ahead with the licensing process.
Each of the companies previously were granted social equity status by the Social Equity Council. The DCP is now performing background checks on the companies before granting provisional licenses.
The social equity cannabis product manufacturers are:
Grow Green Girls Inc. won both cannabis transporter social equity bids. That company names Coventry residents Andrew and Elicia Mae Ladyga as principals.
Per the DCP, all companies have been notified that they can move forward with the provisional license process, which includes submitting additional information for a required background check by a third-party processing company. The DCP’s applications review is expected to take several weeks, at which point the companies will have to pay fees based on their licensing type.
Remaining social equity applications not selected in this lottery will be added to the upcoming general lottery, conducted by the UConn School of Pharmacy.
