A Dallas-based healthcare investment group has acquired New Britain’s CCMC School, an affiliate of Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Pharos Capital Group LLC announced it recently acquired the special education school for students between five and 21 years old who require intensive intervention due to behavioral, emotional and learning challenges.

The school, at 300 John Downey Dr., annually serves more than 100 children.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Pharos, which also houses offices in Tennessee and Maryland, made the acquisition through its Family Treatment Network (FTN) platform, which manages its investments in special schools, psychiatric residential treatment centers and community-based programs for children and their families.

Connecticut Children’s CEO Jim Shmerling said the school’s new resources provided under the arrangement will help it better support underserved children and families in Connecticut.

FTN officials said the New Britain acquisition is the last addition to its expanding behavioral health network.

Its portfolio includes South Dakota-based Behavior Care Specialists and Utah-based Logan River Academy.
