Ion Bank said it has opened a new branch at 376 North Main St., in Southington as part of a recent expansion in Hartford Country.
It’s the Naugatuck-based bank’s 22nd location and is unique because it contains its first electric vehicle charging station at a branch. The station is capable of charging two vehicles simultaneously.
“While offering added convenience to customers, we are thrilled to do our part by reducing our carbon footprint to help improve air quality and lower greenhouse gas emissions,” the bank said in an announcement.
The new branch also has a modern teller machine that offers face-to-face banking via video, along with extended hours from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday, and 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The new Southington branch is staffed with personal bankers along with business banking and commercial lenders. Additional wealth management and insurance services are available through Ion Investments.
Ion Financial, parent company of Ion Bank and Ion Investments, was founded in 1870. The bank has branches in 18 towns and cities in Connecticut and New Jersey, as well as two high school branches.
