June 9, 2008 -- Of Note

• Kaestle Boos Associates Inc. in New Britain received a 2007 Excellence in Construction Award from the Connecticut chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors. The company received a First Place/Renovation award with Gar-San Corp. for the Watertown Fire Station No. 1 project.

 

• University of Connecticut students raised $56,000 at the 10th annual HuskyTHON to benefit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. Funds will be used for programs and medical equipment at the hospital.

 

• The National Conference for Community and Justice of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts Inc. in Windsor received a $10,000 donation from the Perrin Family Foundation to support its youth action coalition leadership development program.

 

• Tilcon Connecticut Inc. of New Britain won a 2007 Community Involvement Award from the National Asphalt Pavement Association. The company was honored for serving the community through outstanding projects.
