Lamont taps two for CERC board

Jim Loree, president and CEO of Stanley Black & Decker, and Jeffrey Sonnenfeld Sr., associate dean of the Yale School of Management, will join the board of directors of the Connecticut Economic Resource Center (CERC), the nonprofit corporation that seeks to foster business formation, recruitment and growth in Connecticut.

Loree joined Stanley Black & Decker in 1999, first as chief financial officer and then as chief operating officer before becoming CEO in 2016 as the company generated significant growth both organically and through acquisitions. The New Britain company has a market capitalization of $21 billion.

Sonnenfeld is currently the senior associate dean of leadership programs as well as the Lester Crown Professor in the Practice of Management for the Yale School of Management. He is also founder and president of the Chief Executive Leadership Institute, a nonprofit educational and research institute focused on CEO leadership and corporate governance. He previously served as full tenured professor at Emory’s Goizueta Business School for a decade and a professor at the Harvard Business School for a decade.
