Lincoln Tech said it has reopened its three Connecticut campuses, including those in New Britain and East Windsor.
Lincoln Educational Services Corp., parent of the for-profit technical education provider, said on-site instruction resumed on a limited basis this week at the campuses, which also include Shelton.
Lincoln Tech said it will bring back students in certain programs and those nearing graduation because they need hands-on skills training to complete their course work.
There are 1,633 students enrolled across the Connecticut locations, which train automotive and diesel technicians, electricians and licensed practical nurses.
The campuses will use enhanced cleaning procedures and will follow CDC guidelines mandating face coverings and social distancing.
"We're excited to start June on a high note by welcoming our students back," Kevin Clark, president of the East Windsor campus, said in a statement. "Their health and safety, along with that of their families, our faculty and staff, continues to be our top priority.”
Lincoln Tech has offered classroom instruction remotely since mid-March, when the COVID-19 pandemic ramped up in Connecticut.
