Maggie Johndrow started her career at prominent Wall Street banks — Barclays and JP Morgan — where she worked with high-net-worth individuals and institutional clients.
After several years of working on a team managing $450 million, Johndrow eventually formed a partnership with her mother-in-law, Lori Johndrow, creating a long-term transition and buyout plan for Lori’s firm, Johndrow Wealth Management. Maggie officially joined JMW in late 2016 and was promoted to partner in 2019.
Since joining JWM, Maggie Johndrow increased revenue by 10 percent, thanks in part to strategic efforts to penetrate key demographics like women and Millennial investors. She has also been instrumental in revamping the firm’s marketing tactics, and has built strong relationships with members of the media, including a recurring segment with NBC CT Live. What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?
One of my first goals upon joining Johndrow Wealth was rebranding and marketing our firm. In just 2.5 years I was able to spearhead a new website, new logo and significantly increase our digital footprint through PR, social media, webinars and online client services. This allowed our firm to expand in Connecticut and beyond.
I dedicate my time to my passions: financial literacy and women’s education. I volunteer with the Connecticut Money School and I’ve revamped the annual “Financial Literacy Day” at my alma mater, Miss Porter’s School, where I also serve on the alumni board of directors. I also volunteer with the Junior League of Hartford and Petit Family Foundation.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I spend my time traveling, trying new restaurants and keeping active. My husband and I travel as much as possible, both domestically and internationally. Most recently, I was in Copenhagen where I thoroughly enjoyed their traditional porridge dish: Grød.
• I received national recognition in the financial services industry by being named Investment News’ 40 Under 40 in 2018.
• I help promote young women in STEM by serving on the boards of the Petit Family Foundation and Miss Porter’s School.
• I spearheaded re-branding and marketing of Johndrow Wealth Management, including securing over 40 media appearances in 2.5 years.
• I strive to provide the best client experience and service.
Despite being born in the United States, my first language is Polish.
