Manchester’s fourth brewery will debut in less than two weeks in the former Adams Mill restaurant building.
Eli’s Restaurant Group, of Hamden, on Tuesday said it will open Elicit Brewing Co., an American-style beer garden, on Monday, Nov. 18, at 165 Adams St. This marks the restaurant group’s first business in Hartford County.
The nearly four-decade-old Adams Mill Restaurant closed in April after its owners agreed to sell the property to Eli’s for $1.4 million.
The 16,889-square-foot venue will reboot this month as an upscale pub serving pizza, sandwiches and small-style plates including wings and pretzels. It will sell more than 40 types of beer, and wine and cocktails, the restaurant group has said.
Manchester’s Planning and Zoning Commission in recent weeks approved Eli’s plans for an outdoor patio at the Adams Street site, meeting minutes show. The space will be located in the rear of the building, and is expected to include picnic tables, outdoor games and a fire pit, according to plans.
Founded in 1994, the restaurant group operates Eli’s on Whitney in Hamden, Eli’s Catering and Eli’s Brick Oven Pizza in Hamden, and other Eli’s locations in Orange, Branford and Milford.
Elicit Brewing will join Manchester’s growing brewery market including Labyrinth Brewing Co., Urban Lodge Brewing Co. and 2nd Bridge Brewing Co.
There are nearly 100 breweries operating in Connecticut, according to the Brewers Association.
