In the third announcement of its kind this week, Gov. Ned Lamont said ITT Inc., a manufacturing and technology company, will relocate its corporate headquarters from New York to Connecticut.
According to state officials, ITT will move into a 24,000-square-foot office at 100 Washington Boulevard in Stamford, bringing with it 57 full-time jobs. The firm is currently based in White Plains.
“Our administration has been laser-focused on doing everything we can to get Connecticut’s economy growing again, and having a company with a worldwide reputation like ITT deciding to move their global headquarters to our state is nothing but a win,” the governor said.
To support the move, the state Department of Economic and Community Development plans to provide ITT with a grant in arrears of up to nearly $2 million, contingent upon the company creating and retaining up to 57 new full-time positions in Connecticut.
ITT produces specially engineered components for use in the aerospace, transportation, energy and automotive industries. It employs about 9,700 people worldwide, with locations in more than 35 countries.
ITT’s announcement comes just four days after tobacco company Philip Morris International confirmed it will move its central office from New York City to a yet-to-be-determined site in southern Fairfield County. The relocation is expected to bring 200 jobs to Connecticut.
Also this week, Manhattan-based financial technology platform iCapital Network announced it will open a new office in Greenwich. The company said it will hire around 200 people to staff the branch.
