Connecticut’s housing-construction pipeline strengthened in March to its best one-month tally this year, the state says.
Last month 104 cities and towns told a Census Bureau survey they issued 474 permits for new single- and multifamily dwellings, up from 116 in February and 255 in January, the state Department of Economic and Community Development said Friday.
Year-ago comparisons are no longer valid because the municipal survey sample is much smaller than the 128-community survey sample that Census employed until January.
According to March survey data, permits issued through the first three months of 2015 for single-family houses are running almost about even with permits for dwellings with five or more living units.
