A Massachusetts-based moving and storage company has purchased an East Haven industrial building as its first brick-and-mortar expansion into Connecticut.
Mass Bay Movers, as MBM Foxon Real Estate LLC, bought property at 218 Foxon Road, East Haven, in mid-September from ECBCT LLC and SDCT LLC of New Jersey for $2.05 million.
The 18,700-square-foot industrial warehouse was built in 2005 and will now serve as the first Connecticut location for Mass Bay Movers, which conducts short- and long-distance moves for residential, collegiate and corporate clients, as well as storage, logistic and warehousing services.
Mass Bay Movers has two locations in Massachusetts and is expanding into the East Haven-Connecticut area, according to broker Vinny Valentino, of Advise Realty Services, who represented the seller in the deal.
The company will be using the building as warehousing and distribution of clients’ belongings on a short- and long-term basis, with a plan to grow the team in Connecticut, Valentino said.
ECBCT bought the property for $1.6 million in 2022.
Officials at Mass Bay could not be reached for comment.
