What’s been your biggest professional accomplishment so far in your career?
While I am proud of my promotion to director of the investment committee, my most meaningful accomplishment is more difficult to define by one single achievement. What I find most rewarding are the relationships and trust I have built with my clients.
How are you involved in the community?
When I left the hustle and bustle of south Boston for the quiet and rural Granby, I was apprehensive about the transition. However, I found a welcoming, engaged, and lively community where my husband and I plan to spend the rest of our days.
I have been very fortunate to find several remarkable organizations where I volunteer my time. I sit on the investment committee for the Village for Families & Children where we help develop investment policy and due diligence for the organization’s endowment. I am also a delivery angel with Healing Meals where we work to deliver healthy, organic meals to folks experiencing a health crisis.
What do you like to do outside of work?
You can frequently find me hiking McLean Game Refuge with my husband, our German shepherd, and our 2-month-old son. I am an avid snowboarder and yogi. We are also very fortunate to have a large circle of dear friends and family that keeps our social calendar very busy.
How did dealing with the coronavirus pandemic help you grow as a leader?
My work closely deals with the financial implications of the pandemic. Coaching clients through the most severe stock market decline in my career took stamina, empathy and conviction. I would spend 12 hours a day in my home office making these calls, pouring through research, joining webinars trying to get a handle on the situation — all while being 9 months pregnant! It has been a challenging time, but this experience has made me a better advisor and leader.
Four reasons why you deserve to be a 40 Under Forty:
I was named the youngest and first female director of our firm’s investment committee by enhancing the structure, communications and partnerships of the committee.
I have shared my expertise with a wide audience via several publications and NBC CT.
I work tirelessly every day to further my education in order to continue to be a resource in navigating financial decisions for clients and the community.
I worked with Healing Meals and Hartford HealthCare to organize our firm’s annual Think Pink Event to promote women’s health and healthy eating.
I completed a two-week trek through the Himalayas.
