Meadow Commons, a mixed-use development in Newington featuring 269 luxury apartments, along with a restaurant and national grocery store chain, is nearing completion.
The “majority of tenants,” except for the grocer, will be open by Labor Day, according to Jeremy Grossman, president of Massachusetts-based Grossman Development Group.
Commercial tenants include Sally’s Apizza, Shake Shack, Crumbl Cookies and PJ's Coffee.
The property at 3333 Berlin Turnpike, near Stew Leonard’s, consists of nearly 25 acres that was previously owned by Eversource.
The front half of the property, facing the Berlin Turnpike, features 79,707-square-feet of commercial and retail space. The grocery store that anchors the development spans 43,228 square feet.
The name of the grocer has not been announced, and Grossman said it is unclear when the grocer will open.
The apartments, known as the Millyard at Meadow Commons, are available for lease. They range from studios to three-bedroom units.
Grossman Development Group also plans to develop a large-scale, mixed-use redevelopment in East Hartford at the former Silver Lane Plaza. It has not yet submitted plans to local land-use boards, but the current vision is to build 114 housing units split between single-family and townhouses, along with about 52,000 square feet of office, retail and restaurant space in five buildings.
