Mohegan Sun casino and Mohegan Sun Golf Club have announced plans to invest $15 million in various projects this year.
Mohegan Sun, which is owned by Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment, said it will open later this year a new, 6,500-square-foot VIP Lounge and Bar in its Casino of the Earth. The VIP Lounge and Bar will include dining, a full bar, and new fireplace located in the center of the venue.
In addition, the casino said there will be major renovations to its two most expensive and sought-out suites, known as the Royal Suites, located in Sky Tower. In total, more than $3 million will be invested in the renovations, which will be highlighted by a fire and water-themed makeover. The Royal Suites are 3,500 square feet and feature two master bedrooms, two Jacuzzis, butler service, and a large circular living room.
Other changes at the casino, located in Uncasville in southeastern Connecticut, include improvements to the golf club. More than $1 million will be spent on new John Deere turf equipment. Phase one of the golf club renovations focus on eliminating select bunkers and improving dozens more and also finalizing certain tree removals. The golf season kicks off Friday.
The casino also said it will soon be announcing new additions to its lineup of restaurants. The casino currently has more than 40 food offerings.
