Final plans for the UConn men’s basketball team’s NCAA championship victory parade and rally on Saturday have been announced.
A rally will take place around 11:30 a.m. in front of the XL Center featuring music, blue and white confetti, and comments from head coach Dan Hurley, several players, Gov. Ned Lamont and others.
The parade steps off at 11 a.m. at the State Capitol and proceeds north on Trinity Street, through the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch, turns right (east) onto Jewell Street, turns left (north) onto Trumbull Street, and ends at the intersection of Asylum and Trumbull streets, where the rally will be held.

The Hartford Business Improvement District said funds for the parade and rally were raised in just three days. No state or city funding was used.

Many downtown Hartford parking lots and garages will offer discounted event parking. On-street parking is free on Saturday. However, on-street parking along the parade route and near the rally will be off-limits.
